Protect weld joints and improve welding with Rass-O'-Nil 20

In the conventional way of cleaning metal, it is extremely difficult to keep the metal surface rust free before welding. Micro-rust forms on the metal surface after cleaning (wash). Welding on micro-rust reduces weld strength.

But surfaces with Rass-O’-Nil 20 can be directly welded because the coat is conductive. Also, because Rass-O’-Nil 20 removes rust from the metal surface totally, weld strength increases considerably and there is no spatter.

Spraying or brushing Rass-O’-Nil 20 over the weld (after cleaning the weld surface properly) will provide a protective coat on the weld. Rass-O’-Nil 20 can be brushed or sprayed onto metal parts with mill scale. The mill scale is converted into a conductive metallurgical protective coat and the parts are then ready for welding.

Rass-O’-Nil 20 has high temperature fusion characteristics which improve bonding. The coat does not flake off or burn even at high temperature.

General Motors Corp's welding tests on 30 pieces of Rass-O’-Nil 20 treated steering parts showed a 60% increase over the weld strength obtained in their usual welding process.

The Pittsburgh Test Lab (now known as PSI), USA, conducted tests on fillet welding, including welding on mill scale, which had been treated with Rass-O’-Nil 20. The result was a 43% increase in weld strength over the strength of welding on bare metal.

The Superintendence Company of India, a Government of India-recognized test house, also performed weld tests. Their reports said there was a considerable improvement in metal fusion and weld strength when Rass-O’-Nil 20 was applied before welding.

Since acid cleaning/pickling is not involved in the Rass-O’-Nil 20 system, acid pickling health hazards are eliminated. 'Hydrogen embrittlement' because of 'hyrdrogenation’ from secondary sources also does not occur.

Rass-O’-Nil 20's features are:

  • Cleans and finishes weld joints.
  • Easily adaptable to all types of welding methods, including glazing.
  • Externally suitable for ferrous and non-ferrous metal treatment.
  • Improves and optimizes fusion with even deposition.
  • Saves welding electrode.
  • Spatterless welding.
  • Avoids chipping and grinding.
  • No carbon deposition or surface oxidation especially for stainless and non-ferrous welding.
  • Improves the weld joints’ quality.
  • Increases the depth of penetration to the micro-structure level.
  • Improves the mechanical and metallurgical properties of welding.
  • Reduces the gaseous and non-metallic inclusion.
  • Increases the weld's overall performance and strength.
